Home Heating Workshop Planned
 | Wondering what to do about high heating bills? You may find the answer at this workshop. Northern Berkshire Community Coalition is sponsoring a "Heating Your Home Safely and Affordably This Winter" event will on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in North Adams.
The presenter is Kate Agin of Northeastern Utilities, with the support of The Family Place, a program of NBCC. Come and learn about energy assistance, other community resource information or have any of your questions answered. See you there! Please use the Eagle Street Entrance.

Library pavers to be installed
 | NAPL receives final order for the season of its Brick Paver Fundraiser.
The next order of 24 pavers continuing to line the property along the black wrought iron fence surrounding the Church Street and East Main Street sides of the historic building have been received and inspected for accuracy. Installation of the pavers will be on Monday, October 31st.
Additional orders will continue to be accepted and input for engraving, but installation will not happen until the spring of 2012.

Transcript Editor Refuses to Publish Candidate Press Releases

Many citizens are voicing conerns of recently admitted items concerning The North Adams Transcript. It appears that the editor, Michael Foster, is refusing to publish mayoral candidate Ron Boucher's campagin press releases. The latest was thanking voters for their support in the primary, and letting voters know a press release of an issue position will be released once a week, beginning this week. Reasons given were that there is not room in the paper for these press releases (Mr. Boucher's was under 400 words), however investigation found only three letters to the editor were published in this timeframe, and one of the letters discredited Mr. Boucher's campaign slogan,
