Clarksburg Lists Voter Precautions for Thursday Election

CLARKSBURG, Mass. — The town election will be held on Thursday, June 11, from noon to 7 p.m. at the Clarksburg Senior Center, 712 West Cross Road.
 
This year's election will be taken with precautions because of COVID-19 and only four voters will be allowed inside the polling center at a time.
 
Voters should: 
  • Wear a mask or face covering over their noses and mouths.
  • Bring their own marking utensil (pen or pencil).
  • Refrain from coming to the polls if you are not feeling well or have a fever.
  • Observe 6-foot social distance. Inside floor is marked 6 feet in distance.
  • Wait in designated area to allow only one person at check-in, check-out tables and casting ballot
  • Enter from the front of the building and exit out the back of the building. 
There are no races on the ballot this year but there are four positions that have no candidates and will require write-in votes if anyone wants to run for them. 
 
On the ballot will be Karin V. Robert, who is seeking to return to the Select Board; also incumbents Laura D. Wood for School Committee, Linda J. Hurlbut for library trustee, and Joseph Bushika III for War Memorial trustee. 
 
Write-ins can be made for a five-year seat on the Planning Board and for Board of Health, moderator and tree warden. 
 
The town meeting will be held Wednesday, June 24, at 6:30 p.m. at a location to be announced.
