DERRY, N.H. -- The MCLA volleyball team swept a pair of non league matches Sunday afternoon as they defeated Farmingdale State, 3-1, in the opener before defeating host Delhi, 3-0, in the nightcap.
The Trailblazers improve to 7-4 on the season. They have won seven of their last eight games.
MCLA (7-4) took the opening two sets against Farmingdale by scores of 25-23 and 25-19 to take the early lead. The Trailblazers dropped the third set, 25-19 before closing the match out with a 25-20 fourth set victory.
Kelly Moczulski continues to lead the offense. She collected 15 kills and 16 digs in the win for MCLA. Tessa Sestito returned from injury to finish with 31 assists and 11 digs of her own. Madison Jayne and Lee's Ahna Schlaefer ended with nine and seven kills, respectively.
Houa Xiong notched a team best 21 digs in the win. She added six aces.
MCLA cruised to the win over Delhi. They took the match with set scores 25-15, 25-17, and 25-21 to earn the sweep.
Moczulski ended game two with 11 kills and 14 digs. Reagan Scattergood and Schlaefer each posted 5 kills in the win. Sestito added 30 more assists in game two along with 10 digs.
MCLA is back in action on Tuesday when they head to New England College for another non-league matchup.
