NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The visiting Castleton State University women's soccer team rolled to a convincing 6-0 win over the MCLA Trailblazers Wednesday evening at Shewcraft Field.

The Spartans (3-2) received a pair of goals from both Julia Carone and Makenzi Bellando in the win.

Castleton's Rylee Nichols converted just four minutes into the action to give the visitors a quick 1-0 advantage. Nichols added an assist just six minutes later as she fed Carone for the first of her goals in the 10th minute to make it 2-0.

The Spartans put the game away with two more first half goals. Tatum Shappy would tally in the 25th minute while Carone would add her second tally in the 28th minute with Nichols once again on the assist. It was 4-0 at the half.

Castleton continued to control the action in the second half and added both tallies from Bellando to account for the final score.

The Spartans owned a sizable 29-3 shot advantage and that included a 9-1 edge in corner kicks.
