NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Josh Loeffler went 3-for-5, and Paul Komistek hit a solo home run Tuesday as the North Adams SteepleCats beat the Valley Blue Sox, 7-4, at Joe Wolfe Field.

 

Loeffler drove in a pair of runs, and Shane Muntz doubled for the SteepleCats.

 

Mason Ronan started and five innings on the mound to earn the win, striking out nine and allowing one earned run.

 

Cole Patten struck out six in three innings of relief, and Jacob Abbott earned his third save with a perfect ninth inning, lowering his earned run average to .73.

 

North Adams is home Thursday night for the annual Fourth of July game. The Vermont Mountaineers are at Joe Wolfe at 6:30 with the game to be followed by the city's annual fireworks display.
