ROXBURY CROSSING, Mass. -- The West girls basketball team opened pool play 2-0 Friday at the Bay State Games at the Reggie Lewis Center.

 

In Game 1, Brooke DiGennaro of Drury scored 24 points, and Arianna Hasiuk of Chicopee Comp added 18 in an 81-67 win over Southeast.

 

In its second game, the West was down by 17 points before rallying past Northeast, 63-53.

 

Hasiuk led the team with 14. Greenfield's Katie Haselton and Monson's Sydnie DeVries each scored 12.

 

On Saturday, the West is scheduled ot play Coastal and Central. Pool play wraps up Sunday at noon before the medal games at 1:30 and 3 p.m.
