To the Editor:
I am writing to publicly express my support for Keifer Gammel for North Adams City Council. Keifer has a great deal of experience working with the North Adams Community. In his current position of visitor services manager at Mass MoCA, Keifer works to draw visitors to the museum, and to engage them in the community while they are here. He also serves on the North Adams Farmers Market Committee, and on the North Adams Chamber of Commerce board.
Keifer, a longtime North Adams resident, graduated from MCLA, where he was equally active in community engagement. As a student, he ran fundraisers and community programs through his fraternity. Keifer adopted this community as his own and stayed after graduation, dedicating his free time to community service and outreach.
I most admire Keifer for his dedication to community building. In my time working for the City of North Adams as the director of tourism and community events, Keifer was a great contact at Mass MoCA. He was always quick to help on projects that encouraged visitors to explore North Adams. I am impressed by his hours of commitment to community events, fundraisers, and economic development initiatives.
Most importantly, I think Keifer is the best candidate because he has a deep understanding of, and direct connection to, two of the main hubs of activity in North Adams: Mass MoCA, and MCLA. He will be a tremendous asset to the council.
With proud enthusiasm, I support Keifer Gammell as a candidate for North Adams City Council.
