NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Monday saw two nail-biters in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League as Central Radio edged Lifting Standards, 53-51, and the Celtics got past Timeless Training, 46-43.

 

In the opener, Jeff Braim scored 19, and Vernon Cross and Todd Hunt added 19 and 12 apiece to lead Central Radio. Bill Jammer led Lifting Standards with 16 points and blocked three shots.

 

In the nightcap, Keith Czubryt had a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Celtics.

 

Collin Parrot scored 17, and Kishawn Monroe added 12 for Timeless Training.

 

Play resumes Wednesday at Noel Field with two games starting at 6:30.
