NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- In the semi-finals of the Pat Torchia Women's Softball League Wednesday evening, VFW defeated Pizza House, 8-0, to advance to the finals.

 

Coming off a win from Tuesday evening, VFW's bats were already warmed up.

 

It took a 1-0 lead right from the start in the first and added another in the second.

 

It was the third inning that gave them some comfort; bringing in six runs to go ahead 8-0.

 

Defensively, VFW allowed only four runners on base from the second inning through the fifth. In the sixth, Pizza House had the bases loaded with one out, but VFW turned a double play to end the inning.

 

VFW advances to the finals which will begin on Monday. They will be playing a best two out of three series against Whitman's.
