NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Parker Perez scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the bottom of the 10th to give the North Adams SteepleCats a 9-8 win over the Keene Swamp Bats on Friday night in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.
Hoosac Valley graduate Tanner Bird pitched a third of an inning of no-hit relief to earn his first win of the year for the 'Cats.
North Adams scored five in the bottom of the sixth to overcome an 8-3 deficit. Hunter Lee had an RBI double, and Victor Sorrento hit a two-run single in that rally.
Sorreno ended he night 3-for-5 with a triple, and Perez was 3-for-5 with two runs scored.
The SteepleCats (16-17) are in fifth place in the six-team NECBL Northern Division, one game behind the Valley Blue Cats, who they travel to face Saturday evening before taking a break for the NECBL All-Star Game on Sunday.
