Grammy and Tony Award winner, singer- songwriter Duncan Sheik comes to DPAC (Drury Performing Arts Center) on April 10, 2015 as part of the 2014-15 DPAC Concert Series. The concert also features regional opener, Adam Michael Rothberg. Rothberg is a singer- songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, side musician, producer, and recording engineer. He produced Dar William’s debut album “The Honesty Room,” toured with Joan Baez and has released multiple solo albums including 2001’s “All The Whispering.”

Kate Bornstein's signature performance piece creates and emotional affirmation for anyone living outside societal norms, particularly in the lens of sexuality and gender. Kate Bornstein, a performance artist and playwright, is the author of several books, including Gender Outlaw: On Men, Women, and the Rest of Us; My Gender Workbook; and a memoir, A Queer and Pleasant Danger: the true story of a nice Jewish boy who joins the Church of Scientology, and leaves twelve years later to become the lovely lady she is today.

MCLA Gallery 51 will present “Eat This,” a student-organized photography exhibition focused on food featuring work from Jon Feinstein’s fast food series along with images from processed views a collaborative project by artists Barbara Ciurej and Lindsay Lochman. “Eat This” was organized by MCLA’s Advanced Museum Studies class, taught by Laura Thompson, director of education and curator of Kidspace at Mass MoCA.

North County Cares Coalition will host a full day of action to fight for restoration of a full-service hospital in North Adams on the one-year anniversary of North Adams Regional Hospital's closing. The event will begin at North Adams City Hall, where a car caravan will travel to Berkshire Medical Center at 1 p.m. for a 2 p.m. rally outside BMC.

A book launch party for local photographer Gillian Jones's first book, “B is for Berkshires,” will be held at the Parlor Cafe on Ashland Street. A children’s alphabet book, “B is for Berkshires” was written by Joan Duris, and features Jones’ photographs of various scenes from throughout the region. The book combines short verses with informative text to introduce children to the Berkshires. “B is for Berkshires” is available for pre-order here.
