NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Hannah Cross went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead Armory Tattoo/Freight Yard Pub into the championship round of the Pat Torchia/North Adams Women's Softball League tournament on Wednesday night.

Armory defeated Greylock Community Club/Hoosac Valley Heating and Cooling, 7-4, to advance out of the losers bracket in the double-elimination tourney and earn a rematch with Pizza House in next week's championship round. Last week, Pizza House dealt Armory an 8-7 loss to drop it into the loser's bracket.

On Wednesday, Armory drew first blood when Cross doubled and came home on a single by Rachel Derosiers in the bottom of the first.

It tacked on two in the third and two in the fifth to build a 5-0 lead. Cross and Erika Valenzuela drove in runs in the third. In the fifth, Morgan Shafer and Kate Galli scored on an error.

Greylock rallied for four runs in the top of the sixth to narrow the gap.

Laura O'Neil (2-for-4), Alyssa Davis (2-for-3), Twink Williams-Burns and Kris Vanuni (2-for-3) singled during the rally.

Armory got some insurance in the bottom of the inning for winning pitcher Melissa Girard.

Kristina King reached on an infield single and came around when Girard singled and came all the way home after an error allowed her ball to get to the outfield fence.
