Adams Aggie Fair Features Exhibits, Rides and More

The Adams Agricultural Fair returns this weekend with competitions, demonstrations and more.

ADAMS, Mass. — The Adams Agricultural Fair makes some noise tonight with the Battle of the Bands, kicking off three days of judging, exhibits, events and competitions at Berkshire County's only country fair.

The 39th annual event at Bowe Field officially starts Friday with a Cruise-in featuring street rods and classic cars and fire engines and the children's pedal tractor contest also takes place, with dancing afterward.

Saturday morning events start off early with the antique tractor pull at 9 a.m. There will be judging throughout the day, the crowning of the fair's prince and princess and the horse pull at 11, a Jeep obstacle course beginning at 5:30 and Phil 'n' the Voids playing from 7 to 10.

Judging continues on Sunday, beginning at 10 a.m., with the ox pull at 11, and a roll-over demonstration and the ever-popular Demolition Derby at 2. The awards ceremony takes place at 4:30 under the main tent.

Returning this year are a number of popular shows and events, including One Sharp Marriage knife-throwing team of Mike and Rosa Gross, Johnny Magestic the magician, the Western Massachusetts Master Gardners, the Berkshire Line Dancers, Zumba, sheep dog demonstrations with Wendy Warner and Birds of Prey with Tom Riccardi.

There will be a range of booths and vendors, including pony rides, Northern Berkshire BeeKeepers, the Antique Fire Truck Club, and Austrian Halfingers from Sommer Hill Farm, demonstrations, exhibits, food, and children's games. Belanger Bros. Amusement rides will be there plus lots of farm animals to see and pet.
