NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- New England Collegiate Baseball League Commissioner Sean McGrath announced league’s 2018 composite schedule on Saturday.   The New England League starts its 25th season on Tuesday, June 5, with a marquee matchup of the last two league champions as part of a full six-game Opening Night slate.   Highlighting the initial slate of games will be a matchup of the last two hoisters of the Fay Vincent Sr. Cup, as the defending champion Valley Blue Sox visit the 2016 champion Mystic Schooners in a stellar cross-division matchup in Connecticut. WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Williams College softball and baseball teams are hosting a youth clinic on Sunday, March 11 at the Towne Field House from 3 to 5 p.m. for players ages 8 to 12.   The cost is $20 per player. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Adams seventh- and eighth-grade boys travel team won its third consecutive tournament on Monday, defeating North Adams in the championship of the John Gaudreau Memorial Tournament by a score of 40-39.   Adams started the tournament off by defeating Greylock by a score of 61 - 50. Carson Meczywor had 20 points and Kobe Valois 15 to lead the winners.   Adams then defeated Housatonic, 59-57 in two overtimes. Adams came from 15 points down in the fourth quarter and tied the game on a Caleb Harrington 3-pointer. NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The MCLA men’s basketball team outscored visiting Framingham State, 36-21, in the second half to break open a close game as it cruised past the Rams 68-54, on Senior Day in the Amsler Campus Center.    The game marked the regular season MASCAC finale for both teams. SALEM, Mass. -- Salem State junior Kia Fernandes had a double double with 26 points and 21 rebounds to lead the Vikings to a 58-47 MASCAC win over MCLA.   The Vikings split the season series as they improve to 9-16 overall and are 5-7 in the conference.   MCLA suffered a setback to its playoff hopes with the loss as it dropped to 6-17 overall and 2-9 in the league.
