WHITE RIVER JUNCTION, Vt. -- Three different Upper Valley Nighthawks pitchers combined on a four-hitter Friday as the North Adams SteepleCats dropped a 5-0 decision in New England Collegiate Baseball League action.   Brian Picone had two of North Adams' hits, and Daniel Corvo threw 2-2/3 innings of scoreless relief in the loss.   North Adams (10-6) comes back to Joe Wolfe Field on Saturday evening to host Keene at 6:30 p.m.

DANBURY, Conn. -- The Danbury Westerners pounded out 22 hits, including four home runs, in a 16-8 win over the SteepleCats on Thursday night.   Matt Koperniak went 2-for-3, and Paul Komistek doubled twice for North Adams, which used three pitchers in the loss.   The SteepleCats (10-5) are on the road again Friday at Uper Valley before coming home to face Keene on Saturday at 6:30 at Joe Wolfe Field.

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- Keeghan Vidal scored 23 points Thursday to lead the McCann Tech boys to a 49-38 win over Hoosac Valley in the John Giorgi Summer Basketball League.   Jackson Owensby chipped in with 14 points in the win.   Joe Delmolino had a double-double for Hoosac Valley, scoring 13 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.   In Thursday's other game, Drury topped Mount Greylock, 70-39, behnd 29 points and eight rebounds from Scott McGuire Jr.   Hunter Sarkis matched McGuire with eight boards and scored 12 points. DALTON, Mass. -- Jesus Lay worked a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the 13th to give the Berkshire Thunder a 4-3 win over the Berkshire Bandits in the Berkshire Adult Baseball League last weekend.   It was 2-2 after nine innings that featured strong pitching from starters Joe Delsoldato and Seamus Morrison.   The Bandits had a chance to go on top in the 11th, but a great relay to Lay at the plate cut down the go-ahead run on a double by Mitch Storie.   In the 12th, the Bandits took the lead on a bases-loaded wild pitch.   In the bottom of the frame, the Thunder faced two-out with a man on second when an errant throw on a ground ball allowed the tying run to come
