Mary Clementine Gleba, 83, of 19 Rich St. died Friday at North Adams Regional Hospital, where she had been admitted Thursday.
Born in North Adams on July 24, 1920, daughter of Alexander and Anna Toniatti Bona, she was educated there, including Drury High School.
She was last employed as a supervisor by the former Sprague Electric Co., retiring in 1985 with more than 35 years of service. Earlier, she had worked for the former Gale Shoe Co.
Mrs. Gleba was a communicant of St. Francis' Church.
She was a member of the Sprague Quarter-Century and Retirees clubs. In her younger years, she was a volunteer with the candy-stripers at North Adams Regional Hospital.
Her husband, Edward Joseph Gleba, whom she married June 6, 1942, died Dec. 5, 1974.
She leaves a son, William Gleba of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; a sister, Doris Sartori of Clarksburg; two brothers, John Bona of Clarksburg and Gino Bona of Williamstown, and a granddaughter. Another son, Mark Edward Gleba, died Dec. 24, 1964.
FUNERAL NOTICE -- Services for Mary (Bona) Gleba will take place Monday, March 1, 2004, at 10:15 at the FLYNN & DAGNOLI-MONTAGNA HOME FOR FUNERALS, West Chapels, 521 West Main St., followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 at St. Francis' Church.
Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested for the Northern Berkshire Association for Retarded Citizens (NOBARC) through the funeral home.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Judith Gleba, and granddaughter, Shelby Gleba. She was predeceased by a son, Mark Edward Gleba on Dec. 24, 1964, and two brothers, Albert Bona and Alfred Bona.
