Barbara Jane Hayden, 90

June 26, 2019

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Barbara Jane (Timoney) Hayden, 90, of North Adams, Mass., passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Wednesday, June 26, 2019.

She was born on March 23, 1929, a daughter of Walter and Alma (Tremblay) Timoney. A proud lifelong resident of North Adams, Barb attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School. In her younger years, she worked for the New England Telephone Company, and later Crane Company. She owned and operated the Silver Basket Store with her daughter, Beverly.

Barb loved gardening, and arranging flowers for Quadland’s and Breen’s flower shops.

She was the widow of Francis Earl "“Bud" Hayden, whom she married on October 14, 1950, at St. Francis of Assisi. Bud passed away on December 2, 2007. Barb's family was always her main focus; she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her eyes lit up when she spoke of her dear family, and was happiest spending time with loved ones. She enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and crafting. Barb made everyone around her feel welcome, special and loved.

Survivors include daughters, Bonnie Hayden and husband, Christopher Gillooly, and Beverly Pinsonnault and husband Gary; sons Robert Hayden and wife Lynn and F. Bruce Hayden and his wife Lynn, all of North Adams, Mass.; grandchildren Hayden Gillooly, Travis and Abby Pinsonnault, Emily Conley, Tracy Sondrini, Jessica Trombley, Aimee Hayden, Kelly Lafarriere, Shaun Hayden, Amanda McKenney and Danny Mendez; great-grandchildren Maylee, Ava, Reese, Reagan, Vivian, Sullivan, Luc, Jackson, Alexi, Nico, Brodie, Ashlyn, Delaney, Tyler, Kyle, Nolan, Jordan and Hope; sister Rachel Viens of North Adams; Godchild Barbara Ann Viens, as well as nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Walter Timoney, who died on April 11, 1978.

The most wonderful matriarch---Barb was an extraordinary woman, and set the bar high for good people. Join us in giving cheers to and celebrating a beautiful life well lived.
