Staff Sgt. Shane M. Appleton, 30

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Staff Sergeant Shane Michael Appleton, USAF, 30, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of North Adams, Mass., died on Sunday, October 28, 2018, in Tucson, Ariz.



He was born in Pittsfield, Mass., on May 19, 1988, to David Appleton and Barbara Ann (Marby) Beaudreau. He attended local schools and graduated from Drury High School with the class of 2006. Shane was currently attending American Military University. He joined the United States Air Force in 2008 and was currently stationed at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson, Ariz.



Shane enjoyed playing golf and was a member of a golf course in Tucson. He loved football and was an avid sports fan of the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Boston Red Sox. He also enjoyed motorcycles. Shane had a great personality that was larger than life, and wherever he went always made friends easily.



Besides his father in Horseheads, N.Y., and his mother in North Adams, Mass., he is survived by his wife, Sherri Ann (Huebner) Appleton, whom he married on July 1, 2017; one stepson, Daevion Brown of Tucson, Ariz.; sister Danielle Beaudreau and her husband Steve Hoyle of Canberra, Australia; brother Jonathan Michael Beaudreau and his fiancée Nicole Lennon of North Adams, Mass.; nieces and nephews, including Aiden, Eowyn Anne, Aubrey and Madeline; aunts and uncles, including Ken Marby, Greg Marby, Jeff Marby, Gary Marby, Colleen Mahdi and Kim Conklin; several cousins; and many friends.



Funeral notice: A memorial service to celebrate the life of Shane Appleton will be held on Saturday, November 10, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. at Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, West Chapel, 521 West Main St., North Adams, Mass. Burial will follow in Southview Cemetery with a reception at the American Legion in North Adams.



Calling hours at the funeral home are Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.  Memorial donations may be made to the Shane Appleton Memorial Scholarship in care of the funeral home.
