Lucille Kulp, 100

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Lucille Nary (Marsh) Kulp, 100, formerly of North Adams, Mass., and Stuart, Fla., died Monday, September 10, 2018, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.



She was born in North Adams, Mass., on March 3, 1918, a daughter of Fred X. and Gertrude (Nary) Marsh. She attended schools in North Adams, graduating from Drury High School with the Class of 1935. Lucille then graduated from the North Adams School of Nursing at North Adams Regional Hospital in 1939.



Lucille first worked as a private duty nurse and then was employed at North Adams Regional Hospital. She worked at Bellevue Hospital in New York City for 2 1/2 years and then returned to North Adams, where she raised her family. She then worked for 18 years as a supervisor of the Labor and Delivery Unit at NARH until her retirement in 1977.



During her time in North Adams, Lucille was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Church. After retiring, she moved to Florida and lived in the community of Duckwood in Stuart, where she was a communicant of St. Christopher’s Church. She enjoyed golfing and homemaking.



Lucille was predeceased by her three husbands, Russell W. Marceau, who died on August 17, 1969; her second husband, Forrest Williams, whom she married in 1977 and settled with in Florida and wdied in 1981; and her third husband, Frank E. Kulp, whom she married July 3, 1984, and who died on October 2, 2009.



Survivors include three sons, David R. Marceau of North Adams, Robert N. Marceau of Pownal, Vt., and Stephen M. Marceau of North Adams; a daughter, Linda Lentine of Cambridge, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Barbara Sprague; as well as nieces and nephews.



She was predeceased by a son, Alan J. Marceau, who died on September 7, 2001; and three brothers, Fred J., William T. and Donald J. Marsh.



Funeral notice: A Liturgy of Christian Burial for Lucille Kulp will be celebrated Friday, September 14, 2018, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church. Burial will follow in the Southview Cemetery.



Calling hours will be Thursday, September 13, 2018, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Flynn & Dagnoli-Montagna Home for Funerals, Central Chapel, 74 Marshall St., North Adams, MA 01247. Memorial donations may be made to the AYJ Fund in care of the funeral home.
