North Adams City Council Hopes to Find Resolution to Conflicts

NBYHL Ice Jam Fundraiser Concert

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Northern Berkshire Youth Hockey League (NBYHL) is hosting a fundraising event at the Peter Foote Memorial Rink on Saturday, May 14.   The ice will be melted in order to host a night of country music to benefit NBYHL.   Local singer/songwriter CJ Field and Nashville recording artist Timmy Brown will be performing.     Food trucks and a bar will be provided by Bounti Fare   Doors open at 5 pm. The show starts at 6 pm.   Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door.   The Peter Foote Memorial Rinks is located on 1267 South Church St.

Clarksburg Student Council Planning Walk to School Options

Summer Temperatures Expected this Week

The Berkshires can expect an early glimpse at some summer temperatures this week.   We are looking at a high of 74 in North Adams today, according to Accuweather.   But be warned, the National Weather Service released a special weather statement that indicated that a  very dry airmass combined with gusty winds will result in elevated fire weather concerns today.   This warning expires at 8 pm   Wednesday, May 11 gets even better with a high of 80 predicted. McCann, BCC Sign Updated Agreement for Medical Programs

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — McCann Technical School and Berkshire Community College have signed updated articulation agreements for surgical technology, dental assisting and medical assisting.

The agreements, which have existed in some form for nearly three decades, allow course credits in the three McCann programs to transfer between the two organizations. McCann Superintendent James Brosnan, BCC President Ellen Kennedy and BCC Dean of STEM and Allied Health Frank Schickor signed the agreement on Monday.

North Adams Man Determined to Hang American Flags in Every Neighborhood

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. — Alan Horbal has adopted the herculean effort over the last 22 years of installing American flags on utility poles throughout the city every summer.   "I started on Park Avenue with four flags, and then 12, and then 60, and we have been expanding ever since," Horbal said.
